Scientific Contests
In order to encourage young people to enter the fascinating world of nuclear science, since 2004, the BNS organizes – with the help of its Young Generation – a yearly contest for the best Master thesis, PhD work or scientific paper related to nuclear applications in the broadest sense of the term.
It aims to reward young scientists or engineers in the nuclear field with money prizes following an oral competition between three shortlisted candidates in front of a jury, as well as a poster session. Prizes are distributed by ONDRAF-NIRAS and SCK•CEN.
The BNS-YG Scientific Contest is open not only for students to present their Master thesis but also to anyone (up to 36 years old) who published a paper related to nuclear, whether it is at school, university or within a company.
