This technical visit will be part of a 3-day weekend in Vienna, Austria.
Program
Friday Sep. 20: travel to Austria by plane in the early morning, transfer by bus to Zwentendorf for a comprehensive exploration of Austria’s first commercial nuclear plant that never entered service, offering a unique insight into the workings of a nuclear power plant and its historical context.
Saturday Sep. 21: discover the beautiful city of Vienna. Don’t miss our social event in the evening!
Sunday Sep. 22: free time and travel back to Belgium.
Date of the technical visit: Friday 20 September 2024
Location: Zwentendorf, Austria (approx. 1 hour from Vienna)
Fee: participation of 300€, which includes:
Flight from Brussels airport to Vienna and back
Accommodation in Vienna (2 nights)
Transfer to Zwentendorf and back to Vienna with private coach
Social event (at least one!)

Transport
Departure from Brussels Airport on Thursday 20th September, at 06:50. Return on Sunday 22nd September, at 18:10.
If you would like to handle your own way of transportation, please specify in the “Additional comment” section of the registration form. The participation fee will be adjusted accordingly.
Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided on Friday and Saturday nights in shared rooms. Details will be sent to the confirmed participants.
Transfer
A private coach will take us from Vienna to the Zwentendorf Nuclear Power Plant.

Who can apply?
Students in a Belgian University
Young Professionals (<36 years old) in a Belgian company or institution related to nuclear
Membership to the Belgian Nuclear Society is not mandatory, but priority goes to BNS members.
Please make sure that you can attend the visit when you register, as we have a limited number of participants. The participation fee needs to be transferred to the BNS bank account so we can book the flights.
