Terms and Conditions of Use of the BNS Website
The following clauses exclude or limit the legal liability of the Belgian Nuclear Society asbl/vzw (in short, the BNS) for this site. They all apply only as far as the Belgian law permits. From time to time, we may need to change or update this privacy notice. The most recent version will be available on our website and contains its version number and date.
This website is owned and maintained by the Belgian Nuclear Society asbl/vzw (BNS). The use of this website is subject to the following terms and conditions. By using this website, you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions. BNS reserves the right to modify, complete or replace the present Terms and Conditions of Use at any time.

Use of the Website
All users who have access to the website agree to use it in conformity with the present Terms and Conditions of Use and all applicable rules. The users are not authorized to use the information and material available on the website in a way and with an aim that is prohibited and is contrary to public order and good morals and/or affects or may affect any right of any third party.
Personal Data
As far as the Belgian Nuclear Society collects personal data about users as they visit its website, it does so in accordance with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679.
When you register as a member or as a subscriber, personal data such as full name, address (including e-mail address), company, etc., might be stored and used by the BNS to fulfill its legal obligations for members and subscribers administration, and for other legitimate purposes, in line with its status (e.g., to keep you informed of research, services and events that may be of interest to you).
By becoming a member of the BNS, you agree to appear in the list of members on this website. Only the first and last names, and your LinkedIn account (if indicated in the registration form), will be visible by default in this list.
When you register for a conference, seminar, visit or related event organized by the BNS, this registration constitutes an agreement. On the basis thereof, we process your personal data for the purposes of managing the event administration. The registration details might be shared with third parties, within EEA, for facilitating the organization of the event (e.g., transmission of attendance list to the event host or co-organizer, in view of legitimate security concerns). If you fail to provide the required data, you will not be able to register for the event at hand.
To fulfil the above purposes, the BNS will only share your personal data with third parties if one of the following circumstances applies:
- for executing a service for the BNS (e.g., hosting, online form building, mailing platform, payment services);
- if required for co-organising the event at hand;
- for meeting a legal obligation.
In some cases, the BNS will request your explicit consent to process your personal data. When you pose for a specific picture, this constitutes such explicit consent. The BNS may edit and spread these pictures for publication and promotion purposes (e.g., through the press and/or for publication on its website, social media, company leaflets).
You can access your personal data directly on this website in the Profile section. You have the right to modify or delete all your personal data. Alternatively, you can use the email address secretary@bnsorg.be to request access, correction or deletion of your personal data. You also have the right to deny permission to use your data in direct marketing campaigns.
