Optimized Floating Power Unit (OFPU) based on RITM-200M reactor plants

JSC “Afrikantov OKBM” of ROSATOM State Corporation is a chief designer and manufacturer of small water-cooled reactors for ice-breakers. On the basis of a long-standing experience of icebreakers operation, OKBM has developed the reactor units of RITM series for SMRs that satisfy the highest performance standards and safety requirements.

The lecture will explore a new-generation energy sources with RITM reactor units developed by JSC “Afrikantov OKBM”, including technical solutions, operation and safety issues. A special attention will be put on the specific features of floating nuclear power units, possible business models for international cooperation and related legal support.

The lecture will contain the conclusions on competitiveness of SMRs and prospects for their deployment and commercial usage.

Mariya Roslaya
Projects development at Rosatom
Having a master degree in Heat Power Engineering in the Institute of Nuclear Energy and Technical Physics Mariya Roslaya has been working at JSC “Afrikantov OKBM” as a Specialist of Business Development Department since 2019. Ms. Roslaya is involved in the development of new projects of ROSATOM for international market such as Floating Nuclear Power Plants. Complicated issues of technical and economic analysis applied to the innovative nuclear projects are in the sphere of her specific responsibility and interest. Also today Ms. Roslaya is an OKBM working group member for the Sustainability Assessment of the Nuclear Energy Systems with SMR RITM-200M by IAEA INPRO Methodology.
