Nuclear Café – Applications of Machine Learning to Nuclear Safeguards

Nuclear safeguards were established since the 1950’s to ensure that nuclear materials and nuclear technology are used only for peaceful purposes. Inspections are carried out regularly in nuclear facilities by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Member States that are signatories of the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

This presentation will offer an overview of applications where Machine Learning can be used to support the verification of spent fuel during a safeguards inspection.
