The Innovation for Nuclear (I4N) competition is an exciting opportunity for students and young professionals under 36 years old to showcase their innovative ideas in the field of nuclear technology. This team-based competition encourages collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking, with groups of 2 to 4 participants working together to develop their unique nuclear concepts.
Competition Overview
The I4N contest is not only a platform for emerging talent in Belgium but is also part of an international initiative organized by various national nuclear societies. Here’s how the competition unfolds:
Important Dates:
Submission Deadline: Each team must submit a brief 300-word description of their idea by February 23.
Development Phase: Following the initial submission, teams will have several weeks to refine their concepts. During this period, the organizing committee will host small lectures featuring senior innovators from the nuclear industry, aimed at providing guidance and inspiration.
Dossier Submission: On March 23, teams are required to present a detailed 4-page dossier that further elaborates on their concept.
Pitching Event: From March 24 to 28, teams will pitch their ideas in an 8-minute presentation to an expert jury panel.
Prizes:
The winning team will receive €1000 in award money and financial support to attend the European finals at the ENYGF in Zagreb, Croatia, from June 2 to 6, 2025. Moreover, the victors will gain lasting recognition in Belgium for their innovative achievements.
